Wheel Throwing Pottery Class (5 Weeks)

Get behind the wheel. 

If you love the idea of doing something new and exciting, and don’t mind getting a little muddy, then this is the course for you. Over 5 weeks, you’ll be guided by our experienced teachers, giving you all the tricks and skills needed to become a capable thrower. You’ll get to learn the basics on how to throw simple shapes such as cylinders (cups and mugs), bowls and vases.

You’ll learn how to trim and shape your pots (extremely satisfying) and then learn how to glaze and decorate your work using our broad palette of glazes. While throwing clay requires attention and practice, we know that at the end of this workshop you’ll be able to take home a piece of work that you’ll be proud of. 

Weekly goals;

• Week 1 - Learning how to throw basic forms.
• Week 2 - Expanding your throwing techniques.
• Week 3 - Learning how to trim, join handles & style your pieces.
• Week 4 - Expanding your trimming, carving & joining skills.

• Week 5 - Learning how to glaze your pieces.

Experience level: Beginner 

The workshops are also small and intimate to maximise your experience and at the end you will finish with around 5-6 pieces that are all food-safe and dishwasher friendly.

Anyone aged 13 & over is welcome to join, but anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult who is also taking the class.
