Whether you’re looking to craft a striking candelabra, a sleek pendant light, or an elegant wall sconce, this workshop will guide you through the process of designing and creating custom lighting decor for your home.

Through expert instruction and hands-on practice, you’ll explore a variety of Handbuilding techniques to shape, refine, and personalize your pieces. By the end of the course, you'll have a collection of unique ceramic lighting fixtures, ready to bring warmth and artistry into your space.

WEEKLY GOALS:

WEEK 1: Candelabras & Candle Holders

• Introduction to clay and handbuilding techniques

• Create sculptural candelabras, tea light holders, or candlestick holders

WEEK 2: Pendant Lights & Lamp Bases

• Design and build a pendant light, lamp shade, or lamp base

• Techniques for hollow forms and structural integrity

WEEK 3: Wall Sconces & Outdoor Lanterns

• Explore functional and decorative wall-mounted lighting

• Create an outdoor lantern or a customized wall sconce

WEEK 4: Glazing & Finishing

• Learn glazing techniques to enhance your lighting pieces

• Prepare your work for final firing

Anyone aged 13 & over is welcome to join, but anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult who is also taking the class.

**NOTE: You must be able to make all dates. We're not able to do make-up sessions if you can't make a date.
