Porcelain Moon Vase Workshop

Join us for an exceptional workshop led by the incredibly talented ceramicist, Evan Davis. With over 30 years of ceramic experience, you can trust that you're in expert hands! (MEMBERS receive 10% OFF)

This exclusive workshop will focus on crafting a stunning two-piece porcelain moon vase. Participants are encouraged to explore their own design variations on the classic bulbous form.

Time & Dates:

  • SAT 25th May 9-3pm
  • Sun 26th May 9-1pm
  • Sun 9th June 9am-12pm

Day 1 Goals: On the first day, you will learn the techniques to create the rounded two-piece form using porcelain.

Day 2 Goals: The following day will be dedicated to refining the form. Students will focus on turning, trimming, and surface decoration. By the end of day two, you will have crafted a beautiful classic round form. For those feeling adventurous, Evan will demonstrate how to "throw" the base, adding extra height and complexity to the shape.

Day 3 Goals: The third day will be devoted to glazing the forms in either gloss or satin white glaze. Participants have the option to bring additional brush-on colors for added creativity. The price includes Keane's Porcelain and gloss or satin glazes.

There is no pressure to produce exceptional works. This is a learning experience, and you should feel both excited and relaxed. Follow my guidance, and you'll be amazed at what you can achieve.

What's Included:

  • 1 x 10kg bag of Porcelain Clay
  • Tools & Equipment (Feel free to bring your own throwing tools)
  • Studio gloss white or satin glazes
  • Your favorite piece from the MasterClass will be fired by the studio, ready to take home upon completion.

What to Bring:

  • A pencil and a small notebook with unruled pages to assist in visual planning of your intended shapes.
  • Lunch (our studio provides a kitchen with a fridge and microwave)

*** Please note that this is an intermediate - advanced workshop, and basic Wheel Throwing experience is required. However, you don't need to be a professional to join. We do not offer make-up sessions, so please ensure you can attend all dates.
